Betty Parsley, Harbour Main

Betty Parsley is a lifelong resident of Harbour Main. Upon graduating high school, Betty continued her education in travel and tourism and went on to have a successful career as a travel consultant for over twenty years.

Betty served as the mayor of Harbour Main-Chapel’s Cove-Lakeview. Her involvement in municipal politics began in 2007 when she was elected as a town councillor. She has been involved in numerous infrastructure projects in the municipality including water and sewer services, and recreation initiatives.

In 2015, she was elected to represent the District of Harbour Main in the House of Assembly.

In addition to politics, Betty has also been involved in a number of community groups and charities. In the 1990s she was involved in a humanitarian effort to bring children from Chernobyl, Ukraine, to Newfoundland and Labrador. She has a son and a daughter, and one grandson.
