Honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day

Honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day

Friends,

Every year on June 21 Canada celebrates National Indigenous Peoples Day. In honour of our Indigenous peoples, we produced this short documentary of the day our caucus brought the Moosehide Campaign to the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly.

The idea for Moose Hide Campaign was sparked by a hunting trip along British Columbia’s infamous ‘Highway of Tears’ – a highway where many women have disappeared or been murdered. That trip inspired the idea for a moose hide pin that, when worn, would start a conversation about ending violence.

Help us honour our Indigenous peoples. Watch how we all can contribute to this million-strong movement of Indigenous and non-Indigenous men and boys that is committed to ending violence against women and girls.
