John Finn

Stephenville – Port au Port

John Finn is a lifelong resident of Stephenville. A graduate of College of the North Atlantic’s Community Studies Program, John worked with the Community Education Network in Stephenville as an employment counsellor and a housing and homelessness caseworker since 2008. During this time, he assisted hundreds of individuals and families throughout the Stephenville region return to school for training, obtain employment, and secure safe and affordable housing.

John was co-chair of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association for Career Practitioners from 2009–2010, and in 2013 he played a lead role in the design, development, and implementation of Aunt Jean’s Place, a temporary emergency housing shelter in Stephenville.

John has served on the Town Council of Stephenville since 2013, sitting on several key committees including finance. A dedicated community volunteer, John has been heavily involved in charitable activities and in supporting youth in the Stephenville area.

In 2015, he was elected to serve the District of Stephenville – Port au Port in the House of Assembly. He currently serves on the Resource Committee, the Government Services Committee, and the Privileges & Elections Committee.
