Liberal Government Supports Tourism Growth in Bonavista Area
Today, Minister Christopher Mitchelmore announced funding of more than $52,000 for four tourism companies in the Bonavista area.
- The Artisan Inn (located in Trinity) received $22,500 from the Business Development Support Program to assist with marketing and training initiatives such as the development of a new marketing plan, website, social media plan and updated marketing materials. The Inn is hoping to increase the occupancy rate in the shoulder season months.
- The Trinity Historical Society Inc. received a loan of $20,000 as part of the Business Investment Program to support the Cultural Craft Development Project, a partnership between four organizations. It will allow participating shops the financial flexibility to purchase cultural craft that would otherwise be unavailable to them, leading to increased sales and an improved visitor experience.
“Through these investments, we are providing tourism training opportunities for staff to enhance the visitor experience as well as marketing support which will enable clients to reach and engage a larger market. This is in keeping with our commitment, through the Provincial Tourism Product Development Plan, to collaborate with our partners to increase the number of high quality, Newfoundland and Labrador tourism experiences to attract more visitors, encourage them to stay longer and experience more.”
