Randy Edmunds has been representing the District of Torngat Mountains in the House of Assembly since 2011. Randy was born in North West River and graduated from JCEM School in Makkovik in 1981. He received a Fishing Masters Class IV and Home Trade III Restricted Passenger Carrying Endorsement from the Fisheries College.

Prior to entering politics, Randy worked in a variety of fields in Labrador, from fishing for shrimp, char, and salmon, to serving as a youth counsellor/coordinator and as a weather observer. More recently, Randy and his wife have operated a successful tourism venture in Makkovik.

Randy has served as a board member of the Labrador Inuit Association, and has sat on various committees in the region, including the Voisey’s Bay Harvesting Compensation Board, Labrador Legal Services, and the Combined Councils of Labrador. Randy served as the Opposition Critic responsible for Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs. He currently serves as Chair of the Government Services Committee, and as Caucus Chair.
