I hope you are all taking care during these difficult times. As the COVID-19 global pandemic continues to create a “new normal,” I am inspired by the resiliency and efforts of everyone to get through this with the best of spirits.
On behalf of the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador, I want to thank our Health Care professionals, front line workers, first responders, and all essential workers for the tremendous job they are doing through this ordeal. You are on the frontline facing COVID-19 head on and you deserve our support and gratitude. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I want to give my thanks and commend the leadership of Dr. Janice Fitzgerald, Minister John Haggie, and Premier Dwight Ball. They are providing the necessary precautions and taking steps to protect all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. We must all abide by the rules and regulations government is putting in place to protect us all.
We have seen many members of our communities find ways to stay connected while remaining apart. Musicians have put on virtual concerts. Artists have created moving visuals. Business owners and staff have changed the way they do business by offering goods and services in a new and safe way. It is inspiring to see the innovation and optimism in our province. It is this shared sense of purpose, and our will to do our part, that will see us through this situation.
Let’s continue to practice social distancing, shop only for the essentials, and wash our hands!
As Newfoundlanders and Labradorians do, we will get through this together.
Be well and stay safe,
John Allan, President, LPNL
