Bernard Davis is a lifelong resident of St. John’s with a long and distinguished track record of community involvement. Bernard is a graduate of the former Brother Rice High School and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) degree from Memorial University. In November 2015, he was elected to serve the new District of Virginia Waters – Pleasantville in the House of Assembly. He was also appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health and Community Services. During the cabinet shuffle he was newly appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Service NL.
Before entering provincial politics, he was the executive director and program co-ordinator of the Church Lad’s Brigade (CLB).
Bernard was elected as a city councillor for St. John’s in 2013. In addition to his involvement with municipal politics, he served on many boards and volunteer organizations over the years. He has served as chair for Newfoundland & Labrador Volunteer Week, a community representative on the Roncalli Elementary School Council, secretary on the MacMorran Community Centre Board of Directors, and commissioner with the St. John’s Transportation Commission.
Bernard has also been heavily involved in sports, having coached the St. John’s Junior Capitals through four national tournaments. He is also the head coach of the Feildians senior baseball team. Bernard is married to Sebrina (nee Cooper).
